The VX-6 was tasked to support the the US Navy's Operation Deep Freeze exploration of Antarctica from 1955 to 1999.
 It initially used R7V/D Constellations and P2V-7 and later C-130s as well as LH-34D Helicopters. These shots cover the 1960 and 1961 campaigns

The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the world's largest military airshow and is organized every year at RAF Fairford inEngland.
 You often hear from long time attendees that the show is not as good as it used to be, but there is no other place where you can see so many different types of military aircraft in one place. with 8 hrs of flying display each day, and being closer to the runway and the flying aircrafts than in most airshows. 
I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves aviation to at least make the pilgrimage once. Below are some of the highlights of the 2024 edition

During the 50s and 60s Edwards AFB was at the apogee of its activities. WE take a look at the 1959 Open House where among others most of the century fighter aircraft were on display but also the prototype of the DC-8, the F-4 phantom prototype and many others.

 It was decommissioned in 1959 and was used as a target ship until 1974.
